老师处理:老师帮助区分表示频率的 seldom 与表示客观不存在的 there are no,并补充 dense、walking distance 和 few and far between 等表达。

I think transportation system in urban area have more variety... However, in rural areas, there there seldom has... The transportation systems are more dense in urban area... Public transport also runs runs more often in cities.

However, in rural areas, there are no subways. People usually drive in rural areas. Public transport runs more often in cities. Traffic stops are few and far between in rural areas.

复习抓手:描述客观有无时使用 there are no,不用 seldom 代替;dense(密集的)可描述城市交通网络;few and far between(稀少且相隔很远)可描述农村站点

2

老师处理:老师引导答案围绕工厂展开,并提供 twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week、carbon emissions 和 water pollution 等论据。

I don't think so... it does produce some air pollution, but I think compared to, compared to like a big factories... this is not that much.

Factories may operate twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, while most cars are driven only a few hours a day. Large factories can produce substantial carbon emissions and water pollution.

I think bags and cars are more popular in my country... motorcycle is kind of like a niche hobby... most of people need to drive a long distance to to their workplace... bikes are super practical for students because they don't have long distance to travel.

Cars are practical for families and long-distance commuters. Bikes are practical for students who mainly travel around campus. Motorcycling is more of a niche hobby.

I think electric cars will be more and more popular in the future... It's environmental friendly... government would subsidize and promote the use of electric cars... There are more and more charging stations.

Electric cars are environmentally friendly. Governments may subsidize and promote them. More charging stations will make it easier to recharge their batteries.

Not really because I think the the most important... problem right now currently is traffic jam in the city... you couldn't just build a highway in the city.

Most traffic congestion happens within cities, not between cities. Building highways takes a great deal of time and money, so widening some roads may be more effective.

复习抓手:回答应先确认问题真正对应的拥堵位置;traffic congestion(交通拥堵)比重复使用 traffic jam 更灵活;effective(有效的)与 efficient(高效的)含义不同

6

I would rather be in my car... I have more space in my car... if you are not lucky enough, you even need to stand in the bus... people around you complaining and being panic.

People around you may be complaining or becoming panicky, which can be very stressful.

That could be very stressful

Not really... you might not have a seat... it could be very crowded and very noisy, and, also in summer it can be very hot... public transport in my city is not very accessible.

I often need to walk a long distance or ride a bike to reach the nearest subway station, and I may still be far from my destination after leaving the station.

学生原始输出:both parents and teachers... opinions and advice are both very important... parents tend to know their kids better... teacher have more expertise...

Parents know their children's personalities and the support the family can afford to provide. Teachers understand students better intellectually and may have a better sense of the job market.

复习抓手:双边题可以先承认双方价值,再明确各自优势;intellectually(在学习能力或智力表现方面)用于说明老师的观察;job market(就业市场)可支撑老师对专业选择的建议

9

学生原始输出:most of the children communicate more with their parents, because they just have more... Spend more time together... some children might live in a family that... don't have time for them, and they mind being neglected.

Children usually spend more time with their parents. In some cases, neglected children may talk to teachers more for emotional support because the teacher-student boundary can create a safer space.

老师处理:老师补充 empathy、same age group、common ground 和 share the same schedule,并帮助扩展朋友之间的共同经历。

学生原始输出:most of young people might like to share their opinions with their friends, or even strangers along... Their friends could know them better, and have more empathy... they share the same interest and hobbies.

Friends are often in the same age group, share similar interests and schedules, and face similar problems, so it is easier to find common ground.

How are the transportation systems in urban areas and rural areas different?

Transportation systems in urban areas offer much more variety, including subways, buses, taxis and shared bikes. The networks are also denser, so many people can reach a bus stop or subway station within walking distance. Public transport runs more often as well, and people may only need to wait about five minutes. In rural areas, there are usually no subways, so people rely more on cars. Bus stops are often few and far between, and passengers may have to walk a long distance and wait much longer for a bus.

Do you think air pollution comes mostly from motor vehicles?

Not really. Cars do produce air pollution, but I think large factories can be a bigger source. A factory may operate twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, while most cars are driven for only a few hours each day. Factories are also huge and may produce large amounts of carbon emissions and water pollution. Even though cities such as Beijing have many cars, their air quality can still improve, so motor vehicles are not always the main problem.

Which form of vehicle is more popular in your country: bikes, cars, or motorcycles?

I think cars and bikes are more popular in my country, while motorcycling is more of a niche hobby. Cars are practical for families because parents may need to drive their children to school and commute long distances. This is especially common in large cities, where many people live in the suburbs and work near the city centre. Bikes are also practical for students because they usually travel around their campus rather than across the whole city.

What do you think of the future of electric cars?

I think electric cars will become more and more popular. First, they are environmentally friendly and can help reduce air pollution, so governments may subsidize and promote them. Second, domestically produced electric cars are becoming cheaper and better. Many of them have attractive designs and are practical and comfortable. Finally, there are more charging stations now, which makes it more convenient for people to recharge their batteries.

Do you think highways will help reduce traffic jams?

Not really. The most urgent problem is traffic congestion within cities, especially on narrow streets, rather than traffic between cities. We cannot simply build highways through every crowded urban area. Highways also take a great deal of time and money to build, so they are not always an effective or efficient solution. In some places, widening existing roads may be more practical.

Would you rather be in a car or a bus in a traffic jam?

I would rather be in a car because I would have more personal space. I could listen to music or eat some snacks, and if I were not driving, I could even rest in the back seat. On a bus, I might have to stand while waiting for the traffic to clear. It could also be hot, noisy and crowded. If the passengers around me became panicky or started complaining, the experience would be very stressful.

Do you like to use public transport?

Not really. If I am unlucky, I may not get a seat, and buses and subways can be crowded, noisy and hot, especially during rush hour or in summer. I also feel that public transport in Beijing is not always very accessible. I often need to walk a long distance or ride a bike to reach the nearest subway station, and I may still be far from my destination after leaving the station.

Whose opinions are more important to children, their parents' or teachers'?

I think both are important in different ways. Parents usually know their children's personalities better, and they understand what kind of support the family can afford to provide. Teachers, however, understand their students better intellectually. They may know whether a student is likely to succeed in a certain field, and they can also have a more up-to-date understanding of the job market. Children should therefore consider advice from both sides.

Do children communicate more with teachers or with parents?

Most children communicate more with their parents because they spend more time together. Students may only speak to teachers between classes or during office hours, which might amount to only a few hours a week. By contrast, they spend evenings and weekends with their families. However, there are exceptions. If parents are extremely busy and a child feels neglected, the child may talk to a teacher more often for emotional support because the teacher-student relationship can provide a safer space.

Who do young people like to share opinions with?

I think most young people prefer to share their opinions with friends or even strangers online. Parents and teachers can sometimes seem strict or judgmental, while friends of the same age often have more empathy. They may listen to the same music, watch the same shows, attend the same classes and face similar problems, so it is easier to find common ground. Some young people also talk to strangers online because those people are outside their real-life social circle.
